Moody, heavy, melodic rock with no fear of math runs deep in the veins of the Pacific Northwest, and Tacoma’s Lo’ There are worthy heirs to that tradition. Though their sound probably owes more to contemporary progressive rock modes, you can also hear traces of Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox, and other unreconstructed emo bands that predate the era when “emo” became a code word for shitty, indulgent music made by and for emotionally stunted children with terrible taste. Maybe Mogwai is a better referent? Or, better yet, maybe you should hear them for yourself.”
